About Alberta Power Industry Innovation Centre (APIC)
The APIC is a university-based research hub advancing the future of electricity systems in Alberta. Building on a decade of collaboration through the Alberta Power Industry Consortium, the Centre brings together researchers and industry partners to address the technical, economic, and societal challenges shaping the grid.
Through applied research in grid integration of renewable and distributed energy, data analytics and artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, system reliability and market dynamics, policy innovation, and climate resilience, APIC connects academic expertise with real-world impact. The result is a coordinated platform for collaboration, training, and knowledge exchange that supports a resilient, reliable, and competitive electricity system for Alberta.
